Alleviating financial poverty and hardship

We offer grants to individuals and families in Elmbridge who are facing financial hardship. We also fund local charities, schools and organisations who are tackling poverty and inequality in Elmbridge.

We are committed to tackling both the symptoms and causes of child poverty in our local area.

In 2021/22

Over £53,000 of delegated and direct grants helped local families with everyday essentials like food, clothing and utility bills. 225 households received support with food and bills through the government’s Household Support Fund.

10 community grants helped more than 2,500 local people access debt advice, free transport and other financial support.

1,347 food parcels were distributed to 3,645 local people (including 1,712 children) in partnership with the Walton & Hersham Foodbank.

66% of all of our grants supported local children and families.

Families are not only having to cope with
coming out of COVID restrictions, but also rising living costs. The number of families struggling has increased, so this support is invaluable.
