Helping local families through the Covid crisis

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected all of us but for families just managing to keep their heads above water, the crisis brought a new wave of pressure.

Through our COVID-19 Response Fund, we have been able to help families across Elmbridge who are struggling to stay afloat.

Thanks to your generous support, we raised an incredible £40,674. We pledged to match every donation made by local businesses and the local community so, together, we have been able to make double the difference. Here’s how your donations helped local families hardest hit by the pandemic.

Today I received £150 of Tesco vouchers and I’m yet to stop the grateful tears from falling. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much!

Computers for Kids

“It was very stressful trying to home school three children without a computer. Receiving a new Chromebook saved my life!”

The sudden switch to online classes and home-schooling during the lockdowns put additional pressure on families already struggling to make ends meet. Without access to computers or an internet connection, parents feared their children would fall behind.

Through our match-funded Computers for Kids appeal, we raised a further £17,434 to fund 57 laptops and computers for local children to access their schoolwork remotely.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our appeals.
