Delegated Funds

What is a Delegated Fund?

Walton Charity Delegated Funds are allocated to organisations who work directly with individuals and families in Elmbridge that are going through financial difficulties during a time of crisis. The fund can be used flexibly by the Delegated Fund holder to tackle both the immediate symptoms of poverty but also to help individuals and families to find a route out of poverty.

Each organisation has its own funding criteria and application process.

The fund can help to contribute towards items deemed to be essential by the fund holder organisation.

Examples of how our Delegated Funds have been used by local organisations:

  • Gift cards for fresh food (supplementing food parcels from the Foodbank)

  • Transport costs (including bikes) for people to get to night shelters or to attend interviews

  • Specialist one-off holiday provision for a child with autism

  • School uniform and shoes when the school the children attended did not hold an Opportunities Fund

  • Supporting refugees new to Elmbridge with the cost of transport to ESOL courses

Walton Charity’s Delegated Fund remains an invaluable resource for helping clients who are experiencing hardship.
