Competition Terms and Conditions

1. PROMOTER: This competition is operated by Walton Charity, a registered charity number 185959 , with offices at Charities House, 1&2 The Quintet, Churchfield Road, Walton on Thames, Surrey. References to “we”, “us” or “our” in these terms and conditions are references to the promoter.

2. OPENING AND CLOSING DATE: This competition opens on Tuesday, 6th July and closes on Friday, 24th September 2021 (the "Competition Period"). Only entries submitted within the Competition Period will be valid and eligible for competition entry.

3. ENTRANTS ELIGIBILITY: This competition is open to all 4-11-year-olds residing in the borough of Elmbridge.

All entrants must have parental or guardian consent and such parent or guardian is required to use their Facebook profile to enter the applicable entrant into the competition and to claim any winning prize. By entering this competition, each parent and guardian will be deemed to have consented for the applicable entrant's details to be used in accordance with these terms and conditions, including, clauses 9, 15 and 16. The winner may be asked to provide proof of age and written parental or guardian consent when claiming their prize.

Please note that children of employees of the promoter (or any of its group undertakings or its agencies who are directly connected with the creation and administration of this competition) are not eligible for entering into this competition..

4. HOW TO ENTER: To enter, pick up a paper copy of the competition entry form from participating schools or download a copy at www.waltoncharity.org.uk/schooluniformdesign and follow the instructions provided. To enter, entrants must use the template provided on the competition sheet. After completing your design, entrant's should write their first name (ONLY) and age in the allocated spaces, have your parent or guardian photograph your entry and then upload it onto the Walton Charity Facebook page, facebook.com/YourWaltonCharity. Alternatively, entries can be submitted to communications@waltoncharity.org.uk.

Entries must be received by the closing date. Maximum of one entry per person.

5. PRIZE: The entrant with the winning design will receive vouchers worth £100 plus £200 worth of art equipment for the school that they attend.

Redemption of vouchers are subject to the retailer's terms and conditions which may be printed or referred to on the vouchers (including redemption before the expiry date, if stated). If required due to circumstances beyond our control, we may need to substitute voucher prizes for other non-cash alternatives.

6. WINNER SELECTION: Judging of the competition will take place within 5 days of the closing date. All entries will be assessed via an initial shortlisting process which will be completed by a panel of Walton Charity staff who will choose 5 finalists. These will then be assessed by an independent judge who will choose a winner. Entries will be judged on creativity, originality of the design and overall visual impact.

7. NOTIFICATION: We will contact the winner within 5 days of the judges selecting a winner. We will contact the winner via Facebook messenger using the account used to submit the entry. If the entry has been submitted via email, the winner will be notified via the email used to submit the entry. If a winner does not respond to us within 10 days of being notified by us, then the winner’s prize will be forfeited and another winner will be picked from the remaining shortlisted entries.

8. DECISIONS OF THE PROMOTER AND JUDGE: If there is any dispute about the validity of any entry or any other aspect of the competition, this will be decided by us. The judge's decision in relation to the winner is final and binding. Our decision regarding any other aspect of the competition is final and binding.

9. WINNER: The winner’s first name and winning entry will be published on the Walton Charity’s webpage, social media and in promotional materials.

10. AGREEMENT TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS: Entry into this competition shall constitute acceptance of these terms and conditions and agreement to be bound by them.

11. DISQUALIFICATION: We reserve the right to reject any entry, withhold any prize and disqualify an entrant from the competition if we reasonably believe there has been any failure to comply with these terms and conditions.

12. QUALITY AND OWNERSHIP OF ENTRIES: Any entries deemed by us to be, or contain any material that is, illegal, offensive, abusive, defamatory or explicit will not be eligible for competition submission. By entering this competition, each parent or guardian confirms that the entrant's submission is their own, original photograph and that the entry submission (and our use of the entry for the purposes described in clause 16) does not, and will not, infringe any third party’s intellectual property rights. We do not claim any rights of ownership in respect of entries, but we may use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format your entry for the purposes described in clause 16.

13. NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ENTRIES NOT RECEIVED: We accept no responsibility for entries not successfully received by us, or which are delayed, due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure of any kind.

14. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: Insofar as is permitted by law, we, our agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate you or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize (if you win) except where it is caused by our negligence or the negligence of our agents or distributors or that of our or their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

15. USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ADMINISTER COMPETITION: We may collect personal information in relation to this competition from you in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 and other applicable data privacy laws. Except as set out in clause 16 below, we will only use your information for the purposes of administering this competition.

16. USE OF PERSONAL AND OTHER INFORMATION FOR PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES: By entering this competition, you agree that, if you win, we may use your entry, first name, and town or residence for promotional purposes (including on our websites, social media or within promotional emails).

17. CANCELLATION OR WITHDRAWAL OF COMPETITION: We reserve the right, at our absolute discretion, to withdraw or cancel this competition without prior notice and without liability to any party if it becomes necessary to do so.

18. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS: We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Revised terms and conditions will be available at www.waltoncharity.org.uk. It is your responsibility to keep up to date with any such changes.

19. RELEVANT LAW: This competition and these terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and each parent and guardian agrees to submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts if any dispute arises.
