Tackling child poverty in Elmbridge
Even before the pandemic, more than 12% of children in Elmbridge were living in poverty. Working with local partners, we are committed to tackling both the symptoms and causes of child poverty in our local area.
Last year, we awarded over £370,000 in grants to support local children and families on low incomes or facing financial hardship - 66% of our total grant funding.
Here’s a snapshot of our impact over last year.
In 2021-22
7 delegated funds totalling more than £27,000 helped local families with essentials such as fresh food, utility bills and school uniforms.
