Sheltered Housing
Margaret & Bill’s Story
We left Zimbabwe three years ago and moved into sheltered accommodation in Suffolk, where Bill’s brother lives. Then our son moved from Zimbabwe to Chessington and we wanted to be nearer to him. We encountered real difficulty in finding a suitable home until our son found out about Walton Charity’s sheltered housing.
We were really delighted - the accommodation is absolutely spotless; the gardens are very pretty, and the people are very friendly. The most wonderful thing is the peace of mind we feel…everything is taken care of. If a light doesn’t work or a toilet breaks or if you need a helping hand with something, there is always someone who will assist.
It used to be a trauma to leave home but now, we don’t have to worry. The lovely surprise for me was the minibus. They take us twice a week shopping and on Fridays there is a little outing.
For Bill and me, it has been wonderful.
